Exciting Technology Features to Keep You Safe This Winter

Heritage Mazda Bel Air, Catonsville & Towson knows that when driving, safety comes first, so it’s important to have the latest and most innovative safety features at your disposal. Mazda engineers are committed to creating vehicles as safe as they are fun to drive. That's why most Mazda models come equipped with a suite of technologies that do everything from making it easier to back into a parking spot to helping you avoid collisions.

Mazda vehicles come packed with plenty of dynamic technologies that make every drive more enjoyable, entertaining, and safe. We've compiled a list of some of the features we're head over heels for. Read on to learn how easy it is to use them to take your driving experience to the next level this winter (and all year long).

Mazda Radar Cruise Control (pictured above)

Working within a set speed range, a Mazda equipped with MRCC uses radar sensor to detect slowing traffic ahead and can automatically brake (or accelerate) to keep you moving with the flow of traffic, relieving some of the burden on those long highway drives.

Available on select models.

Smart City Brake Support (SCBS)

When driving at slow speeds, a Mazda equipped with SCBS will help drivers avoid frontal collisions, or mitigate the severity of collisions if they prove inevitable. If the system detects a possible frontal collision using a laser sensor mounted on the windshield, the SCBS system will precharge the brakes. If the driver does not take corrective action and a collision is determined to be imminent, the system will automatically apply the brakes and reduce engine output.

Available on select models.

The Rear Vehicle Monitoring System (RVM)

The Rear Vehicle Monitoring System (RVM) a 24GHz quasi-milliwave radar system mounted in the bumper, one resistant to harsher weather, to determine if vehicles are approaching from the rear during high-speed driving. If the system does detect an approaching vehicle, it will alert the driver to help reduce the chances of a collision while changing lanes.

Available on select models.

These are just a few of the many available tech safety features Mazda is proud to offer.
