What's New for 2025?

The Mazda CX-70 makes its debut in 2025, although Mazda enthusiasts will quickly recognize the CX-70's resemblance to Mazda's CX-90 introduced in 2024. While both the CX-70 and CX-90 are mid-sized SUVs of the same size, the CX-70 offers more space while the CX-90 maximizes seating capacity. The opulent vibe carries over well, offering Mazda drivers a taste of luxury without an excessive price tag.

Real World Performance

The Mazda CX-70 is the automaker's largest—and most spacious—two-row crossover SUV with seating for up to five. The 2025 CX-70 comes equipped with a hybrid turbocharged 3.3-liter inline-six engine that puts out 280 horsepower. Those who want more power should opt for the plug-in hybrid variant, which bumps up the power to 340. Those who want to tow with the CX-70 will appreciate the 5,000-pound towing capacity across all trims.

Regardless of choice, all are paired with Mazda's eight-speed automatic transmission and i-Activ all-wheel drive (AWD) comes standard. The CX-70 powertrain features Mazda's Intelligent Drive Select, known as Mi-Drive, with the options of Sport, Off-Road, and available Towing or EV modes, depending on the CX-70 model.
